The VL50 is a compact mobile evaporative air cooler designed for cooling smaller commercial, professional and light-duty workspaces. With a maximum airflow of 5,000 m³/h and a recommended coverage area of up to 60 m², it provides local or room-level cooling without the installation requirements of conventional air conditioning.

The unit operates from a standard 220–240 V electrical supply and can be moved between work areas using its integrated castor wheels. A 90-litre water tank allows manual filling or connection to a water supply.

Operating principle

The VL50 uses evaporative, also referred to as adiabatic, cooling. Warm ambient air is drawn through a water-wetted evaporative medium. As part of the water evaporates, heat is absorbed from the incoming air and the air temperature is reduced before it is discharged into the room.

The process does not require a refrigerant circuit or compressor. Because evaporative cooling adds moisture to the treated air, sufficient air renewal is important. Doors, windows, vents or mechanical extraction should allow humidified air to leave the space while fresh air enters.

Cooling performance depends on ambient temperature, relative humidity, ventilation and the thermal load within the space. Evaporative cooling is generally most effective in warm conditions with relatively low humidity.

Available micron ratings

Not applicable to this model. The VL50 does not use a dedicated micron-rated air filtration stage or Pureflow G4 pre-filtration. Where cooling combined with industrial air pre-filtration is required, an industrial cooler configuration should be selected instead.
