Filter mats – versatile filtration media for ventilation and industrial systems

Filter mats are high-quality filtration media designed for use in ventilation, air conditioning and industrial filtration systems. They are used wherever systems must operate reliably in environments with high air pollution levels.

Filter mats are available in rolls or cut to size, allowing flexible use as pre-filters, protective mats or functional filtration layers in a wide range of applications, including ventilation units, recuperators, spray booths and technical installations.

Selecting the correct filtration class and material type is essential to ensure effective filtration and optimal system performance.

Paint Stop ISO Coarse filter mat

Paint Stop filter mats are designed specifically for the removal of paint particles in spray booths and surface treatment installations.

The filter medium is made of continuous fiberglass with a loose weave, allowing paint particles to penetrate deep into the structure. This design prevents surface clogging, extends service life and reduces operational costs.

Key characteristics:

  • Effective capture of paint overspray

  • Deep penetration of contaminants into the filter structure

  • High resistance to solvents containing acetone

  • Stable thickness throughout service life

  • Green colour on the air outlet side for correct installation

Dust Stop ISO Coarse filter mat

Dust Stop filter mats are widely used in ventilation and air conditioning systems as first- or second-stage filtration.

The medium consists of continuous glass fibers with progressive density. Fiber diameters decrease and the structure becomes denser towards the clean air side, ensuring optimal depth filtration and high dust holding capacity.

Key characteristics:

  • Progressive fiber density for efficient dust retention

  • Impregnated structure for increased absorption of dry dust

  • Effective use of the full filter depth

  • Yellow or blue colour on the air outlet side for correct installation

ISO Coarse 35–70% (G2–G4) filtration mats

These filtration mats are primarily used in control cabinets and as additional pre-filtration upstream of pocket or cassette filters.

They are manufactured from high-quality polyester fibers, mechanically and thermally bonded to create a progressive filter structure that efficiently captures and stores dust.

Key characteristics:

  • ISO Coarse 35–70% (G2–G4) performance range

  • High dust holding capacity

  • Moisture-resistant fiber structure

  • Available in rolls or cut formats

  • Supplied per square metre on request

ISO Coarse 90% (M5) filtration mats

ISO Coarse 90% (M5) filter mats are used as final filtration stages in paint booths and surface treatment systems, where protection of coatings and uniform airflow distribution are critical.

The progressive fiber structure increases in density towards the clean air side, ensuring high filtration efficiency with a favourable pressure drop.

Key characteristics:

  • ISO Coarse 90% (M5) filtration

  • Progressive polyester fiber structure

  • High dust absorption capacity

  • Reinforced with polyester mesh on the air outlet side

  • Prevents fiber migration into the system

Latex coconut mat

Latex coconut mats are biological and mechanical filtration media made from natural coconut fiber combined with latex binding.

These mats offer excellent ventilation properties and moisture management. In addition to air filtration applications, they are particularly effective in water filtration systems, where they support biological purification processes.

Key characteristics:

  • Natural coconut fiber structure

  • Mechanical and biological filtration properties

  • Excellent moisture wicking

  • Supports growth of nitrifying bacteria

  • Suitable for submerged or sprayed operation

  • Used in water tanks, ponds and large aquarium filtration systems

Key advantages of filter mats

  • Wide range of filtration classes and materials

  • Suitable for air and process filtration

  • Available in rolls or custom cut sizes

  • High dust and contaminant absorption

  • Stable performance and long service life

  • Moisture-resistant options available

  • Manufactured in Europe

Typical applications

Filter mats are used in a wide range of applications, including:

  • Ventilation and air conditioning systems

  • Recuperators

  • Spray booths and paint walls

  • Control cabinets

  • Industrial pre-filtration stages

  • Water tanks, ponds and aquarium filtration (latex coconut mats)

Custom formats – manufactured to order

Filter mats can be supplied:

  • In full rolls

  • Cut to specific dimensions

  • In custom quantities per square metre

This flexibility ensures precise adaptation to each installation or system design.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
