Product description

Filter housing manufactured according to PED Module A2 and Module G

This filter housing is manufactured in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU using Module A2 or Module G conformity assessment routes. It is designed for industrial filtration applications where formal European pressure equipment approval is required.

Compliance with PED ensures that the filter housing meets essential safety requirements for pressure equipment placed on the European market. Depending on the application and pressure category, the housing is assessed either through Module A2, which includes production quality assurance with notified body surveillance, or through Module G, which involves individual product verification.

These filter housings are suitable for installations where regulatory compliance, traceability and documented conformity are mandatory.

PED conformity and assessment modules

The Pressure Equipment Directive defines different conformity assessment modules based on pressure category and application.

PED Module A2
Module A2 is based on internal production control with supervised pressure equipment checks. It includes manufacturing controls and notified body involvement for final inspection and testing.

PED Module G
Module G applies to individually assessed pressure equipment. Each filter housing is fully verified by a notified body, including design review, inspection and pressure testing.

Both modules ensure that the filter housing complies with PED requirements and can be supplied with CE marking and declaration of conformity.

Design and configuration

The filter housing is engineered as a pressure rated vessel and designed according to defined operating pressure and temperature limits. Each design is adapted to the specific filtration principle and installation requirements.

Configurable parameters typically include:

  • vessel size and orientation

  • inlet and outlet connections

  • closure system

  • internal filter element design

  • surface finish and corrosion allowance

The housing can be supplied as a single unit or integrated into a complete filtration system.

Materials of construction

Filter housings manufactured under PED Module A2 or Module G are produced using pressure approved materials such as stainless steel or carbon steel. Material selection is based on pressure category, operating temperature and compatibility with the process medium.

All materials are documented and traceable in accordance with PED requirements.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
