Cartridge filters – efficient dust filtration for industrial applications
Cartridge filters are high-performance filtration elements designed for industrial dust collection and air filtration systems. They are widely used in environments with high concentrations of dust, fumes and particulate matter, where reliable filtration and long service life are essential.
These filters are a key component of industrial dedusting installations and are commonly applied in processes such as welding, powder coating, grinding and metalworking.
Filtration principle and performance
Cartridge filters use pleated cylindrical filter inserts, which provide a very large filtration surface within a compact volume. This design allows the filter to achieve high filtration efficiency while maintaining stable airflow characteristics.
During operation, contaminated air is drawn into the filtration chamber where dust particles are captured on the outer surface of the cartridge. Cleaned air is then discharged back into the system or environment.
Automatic cleaning system
Cartridge filters are designed to operate with an automatic pulse-jet (JetAIR) cleaning system.
This system periodically generates a short reverse airflow pulse, which detaches accumulated dust from the filter surface.
The advantages of automatic cleaning include:
-
Extended filter service life
-
Stable filtration efficiency
-
Reduced maintenance requirements
-
Continuous system operation
Detached dust falls into the collection hopper, allowing the filter to continue working efficiently.
Filter media options
Cartridge filters can be manufactured using different filter media, selected according to dust type, chemical aggressiveness and operating conditions.
Available filter media include:
Cellulose
Suitable for standard industrial applications and harsh working conditions with dry dust.
Cellulose–synthetic blends
Designed for very fine dust with aggressive chemical properties.
Synthetic filter media
Recommended for high-temperature applications and highly aggressive working environments.
Synthetic media can be supplied with additional surface treatments, such as:
-
Fireproof finish
-
Hydrophobic treatment
-
Aluminum coating
-
PTFE membrane
These options allow precise adaptation of the cartridge filter to demanding industrial processes.
