Product description

Sheet filter press 40x40 FC for controlled depth filtration

The 40x40 FC sheet filter press is a compact and robust filtration system designed for the clarification and polishing of liquids such as wine, beer, spirits, oils and other food process liquids. It uses depth filter sheets to remove suspended solids and improve product clarity in a controlled and reliable way.

This filter press is commonly used in wineries, breweries and food processing facilities where hygienic design, flexibility and consistent filtration results are required.

Filtration principle

The filter press operates with stacked plates holding disposable filter sheets sized 400 x 400 mm. Liquid is pumped through the filter pack under pressure and impurities are retained within the depth of the filter sheets rather than only on the surface.

This filtration method allows:

  • effective removal of suspended particles

  • stable flow rates

  • high dirt holding capacity

  • easy adjustment of filtration grade by changing filter sheets

A single filter press can be used for rough clarification, fine filtration or polishing depending on the selected sheet type.

Plate material options

The 40x40 FC sheet filter press is available with several plate materials, allowing the unit to be adapted to different process conditions and cleaning requirements.

Polypropylene plates
Food grade material suitable for most beverage applications. Lightweight, corrosion resistant and easy to clean.

Noryl plates
Higher mechanical strength and good resistance to temperature and chemicals. Suitable for more demanding operating conditions.

Polyethylene plates
An alternative plastic option offering good chemical resistance for specific applications.

Stainless steel plates AISI 316 (inox)
Maximum durability and hygiene. Ideal for applications requiring intensive cleaning or high resistance to aggressive products.

Construction and equipment

The filter press frame is manufactured entirely from stainless steel and mounted on wheels for easy positioning. It is equipped with a stainless steel drip collection tray and closed by a centrally positioned stainless steel screw.

Standard equipment includes pressure gauges, valves and sight glasses for visual control of the liquid. Optional configurations include:

  • double filtration kit

  • integrated stainless steel pump or flexible impeller pump Z70

  • hydraulic closing system

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
