Product description

Sheet filter press 20x20 for compact depth filtration

The 20x20 sheet filter press is a compact plate filter system designed for depth filtration using filter sheets. It is suitable for the clarification and polishing of liquids such as beverages, oils and other process liquids where controlled filtration and reliable performance are required.

Thanks to its modular design, this filter press can be configured for different capacities and filtration requirements, making it suitable for both small scale and industrial applications.

Filtration principle

The filter press operates with stacked support plates that hold disposable filter sheets with a size of 20x20. Liquid is pumped through the filter pack under controlled pressure, while suspended particles are retained inside the depth structure of the filter sheets.

This filtration method allows:

  • effective removal of suspended solids

  • stable and predictable filtration results

  • good dirt holding capacity

  • easy adjustment of filtration grade by selecting different filter sheets

Plate material options

The 20x20 sheet filter press is available with two support plate materials, allowing selection based on operating conditions and cleaning requirements.

Polypropylene plates
Standard option for most applications. Lightweight, corrosion resistant and suitable for food contact. Easy to handle and clean.

Noryl plates
Higher mechanical strength and improved resistance to temperature and chemicals. Suitable for more demanding filtration processes.

Construction and design

The filter press is built on a robust frame and is available with manual or hydraulic closure depending on configuration. Optional features include wheels, drip tray, sight glass and integrated pump options.

The system can be configured as a single stage, two stage or three stage filtration setup, allowing different filtration grades to be combined in one unit.

Key benefits

  • Compact depth filtration using filter sheets

  • Available with polypropylene or Noryl support plates

  • Flexible configuration with multiple plate quantities

  • Suitable for single or multi stage filtration

  • Reliable and consistent filtration performance

  • Easy operation and maintenance

Typical applications

The 20x20 sheet filter press is commonly used in:

  • beverage production

  • pharmaceutical processing

  • olive oil filtration

  • cosmetics manufacturing

  • liquid clarification and polishing processes

Configuration and quotation

Sheet filter presses are supplied on a quotation basis. This allows configuration of:

  • number of plates

  • support plate material

  • pump type

  • closure system

This ensures the filter press matches the technical and capacity requirements of the application.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
