Product description
Absolute rated polypropylene pleated filter cartridge for high performance liquid filtration
The polypropylene pleated filter cartridge – absolute is designed for applications requiring reliable, absolute rated particulate removal combined with high dirt holding capacity and excellent chemical compatibility. Manufactured entirely from polypropylene, this cartridge provides consistent filtration performance across a wide range of process liquids.
The pleated depth construction allows coarse particles to be captured in the outer layers, while finer particulates are retained within the inner filtration layers, delivering long service life and stable pressure behaviour.
Filtration principle
The cartridge utilises a multi-layer pleated depth filtration design, with up to eight individual polypropylene filtration layers. Process liquid flows through the pleated structure, where contaminants are progressively captured from coarse to fine within the depth of the media.
This filtration principle provides:
-
absolute rated particle retention
-
high dirt holding capacity
-
stable flow rates with low pressure drop
-
consistent filtration efficiency over service life
The pleated configuration maximises effective filtration area while maintaining compact cartridge dimensions.
Media technology and uniqueness
The filter media is manufactured from pure polypropylene without the use of adhesives, binders or surfactants. Multiple filtration layers enable combined pre-filtration and fine filtration within a single cartridge.
Key media characteristics include:
-
multi-layer polypropylene pleated depth media
-
absolute rated filtration (Beta 5000)
-
progressive particle retention through depth
-
excellent chemical compatibility across wide pH range
This design allows a single cartridge to perform both coarse and fine filtration duties.
Design and construction
The cartridge features an all-polypropylene construction, including media, support layers, core, cage and end fittings. Thermal welding is used throughout the assembly process, eliminating the risk of media migration or extractables associated with adhesives.
Typical design features include:
-
pleated depth filtration media
-
all-polypropylene construction
-
thermally welded assembly
-
robust internal support structure
The design ensures mechanical strength and dimensional stability under varying flow and pressure conditions.
