Product description

Multiple bag filter housing for high flow industrial liquid filtration

The Multiple Bag Filter Housing is designed for industrial liquid filtration applications where very high flow rates, large dirt holding capacity and reliable continuous operation are required. By accommodating multiple filter bags within a single housing, large volumes of liquid can be processed efficiently while maintaining stable pressure conditions.

This type of housing is typically selected when single bag filter housings are no longer sufficient or when process uptime and reduced maintenance frequency are critical.

Filtration principle

The housing operates with multiple filter bags installed in parallel inside a common vessel. Process liquid enters the housing, is evenly distributed across the filter bags and exits through the outlet connection. Particles and contaminants are retained inside the filter bags.

This filtration concept provides:

  • very high flow capacity

  • uniform flow distribution across all bags

  • high dirt holding capacity

  • extended service intervals

  • reduced number of housings compared to single bag systems

Bag filtration is suitable for both coarse and fine filtration depending on the selected bag material and micron rating.

Design and construction

The Multiple Bag Filter Housing is engineered for demanding industrial environments and continuous operation. The housing features a robust vertical design with top access, allowing safe and efficient replacement of filter bags.

Typical design features include:

  • single vessel accommodating multiple filter bags

  • removable internal support baskets

  • top opening cover for easy access

  • smooth internal surfaces to support cleaning and drainage

  • vent and drain connections for safe operation

The design allows filter bags to be replaced without removing pipework, minimizing downtime during maintenance.

Bag configurations

Filtra International supplies multiple bag filter housings in configurations suitable for high flow applications, including:

  • 4 bag housings

  • 6 bag housings

  • 8 bag housings

  • 12 bag housings

  • higher bag counts on request

Standard industrial liquid filter bag sizes are used, allowing a wide range of bag materials and micron ratings to be selected.

Operating conditions

Typical operating characteristics include:

  • pressure ratings suitable for industrial liquid filtration

  • operating temperatures depending on housing material and configuration

  • compatibility with a wide range of industrial liquids

Exact pressure and temperature limits depend on the selected configuration, number of bags and process conditions and are defined during the configuration phase.

Compliance and safety

Multiple Bag Filter Housings supplied by Filtra International are designed in accordance with applicable pressure equipment and industrial standards. Each housing can be pressure tested and supplied with conformity documentation and CE marking where required.

Key benefits

  • Very high flow capacity in a single housing

  • Large dirt holding capacity

  • Reduced number of filter housings

  • Efficient bag replacement and maintenance

  • Robust construction for industrial use

  • Flexible configuration for demanding processes

Typical applications

Multiple Bag Filter Housings are commonly used in:

  • industrial water treatment

  • chemical processing

  • coatings, resins and adhesives

  • surface treatment and plating

  • cooling water and process water filtration

  • general industrial liquid filtration

Configuration and quotation

Multiple Bag Filter Housings are supplied on a quotation basis. Configuration parameters include:

  • number of filter bags

  • filter bag size, material and micron rating

  • operating pressure and temperature

  • housing material and design options

This ensures the housing is fully matched to the specific process requirements.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
