Product description

Filter housing manufactured according to ASME Section VIII Division 1 with U Stamp

This filter housing is manufactured in accordance with ASME Section VIII Division 1 and supplied with ASME U stamp certification. It is designed for industrial filtration applications where compliance with American and international pressure vessel codes is required.

ASME U certification confirms that the filter housing is designed, fabricated, inspected and tested according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. This makes the housing suitable for installations in the United States and in international projects where ASME compliance is specified.

These filter housings are typically used in high pressure and safety critical applications where documented design calculations, traceability and third party inspection are mandatory.

ASME U certification

ASME U stamp certification covers the complete lifecycle of pressure vessel manufacturing, including:

  • design calculations according to ASME rules

  • approved pressure vessel materials

  • qualified welding procedures and personnel

  • inspection by authorized inspectors

  • hydrostatic pressure testing

  • complete manufacturing documentation

Only manufacturers holding valid ASME authorization are allowed to apply the U stamp to pressure vessels.

Design and configuration

The filter housing is engineered as a pressure rated vessel and designed to meet specified operating pressure and temperature limits. Each housing is custom designed to suit the required filtration principle and installation conditions.

Typical configuration options include:

  • vessel diameter and length

  • inlet and outlet nozzle size and orientation

  • closure system

  • internal filter element configuration

  • surface finish and corrosion allowance

The housing can be supplied as a stand alone unit or integrated into a complete filtration system.

Materials of construction

Filter housings manufactured to ASME U are produced using ASME approved carbon steel or stainless steel materials. Material selection is based on pressure rating, operating temperature and chemical compatibility with the process medium.

All materials are fully traceable and documented according to ASME requirements.

This ensures the filter housing fully complies with ASME code and project specifications.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
