Product description

Sheet filter press 60x60 for reliable depth filtration

The 60x60 sheet filter press is a proven plate filter system designed for the clarification and polishing of liquids such as wine, beer, spirits, oils and other process fluids. It uses depth filter sheets to remove suspended solids and achieve a clean, stable end product.

This type of filter press is widely used in food and beverage production where consistent quality, hygienic design and dependable operation are essential.

How sheet filtration works

Filtration is achieved by stacking filter plates fitted with disposable filter sheets. The liquid flows through the filter pack under pressure, while particles are retained inside the depth structure of the sheets rather than only on the surface.

This method provides:

  • reliable particle retention

  • stable flow behaviour

  • consistent filtration results

  • flexibility by changing filter sheet grades

By selecting different sheet types, the same filter press can be used for rough clarification, fine filtration or polishing.

Plate material options

The 60x60 sheet filter press is available with three different plate materials. This allows the system to be adapted to process conditions, cleaning methods, and budget requirements.

Polypropylene plates
Lightweight and corrosion resistant. Suitable for standard food and beverage applications and easy to handle and clean.

Noryl plates
High mechanical strength with good resistance to heat and chemicals. Well suited for more demanding operating conditions.

Stainless steel plates AISI 304 (inox)
Maximum robustness and excellent hygienic properties. Ideal for premium beverage production and intensive cleaning regimes.

Construction and design

The filter press is built on a rigid frame designed for stable operation under pressure. Depending on configuration, the unit can be supplied with manual or hydraulic closing systems, food grade seals and various connection options.

The 60x60 plate format offers a good balance between filtration capacity, throughput and installation space.

Key benefits

  • Proven depth filtration using filter sheets

  • Choice of polypropylene, Noryl or stainless steel plates

  • High clarification efficiency

  • Flexible filtration grades

  • Robust construction and long service life

  • Hygienic design suitable for food and beverage processing

Typical applications

This type of sheet filter press is commonly used for:

  • wine filtration

  • beer filtration

  • spirits and liqueurs

  • edible oils

  • process liquids in food production

Configuration and quotation

Sheet filter presses are supplied on a quotation basis. This allows the filter to be configured according to:

  • plate material

  • number of plates

  • closing system

  • connection type

This ensures the filter press matches the specific requirements of the application.

Technical support and validation

Selecting the correct filtration solution often requires verification under real process conditions. Filtra International supports this process through several practical testing and validation options.

Filter samples – available for compatibility and performance checks in existing filter housings.
Full-scale filter housing rental – for temporary installations or process evaluation.
Laboratory and pilot-scale filtration units – enabling controlled testing before full implementation.
Application testing by our team – customers may send product samples for filtration trials and performance evaluation.

These options allow process validation before committing to a permanent installation.
