If you're searching for an FSI X100®, Pall X100®, X100B or X100C filter housing, chances are you're not designing a new filtration system, you are maintaining, upgrading or replacing an existing one.
The X100 platform has been trusted in industrial filtration systems for decades. Its durable polypropylene construction, compact design and unique ability to operate as either a bag filter housing or a cartridge filter housing made it a popular choice across a wide range of industries.
Although the original X100 housing is no longer widely available, many systems remain in operation around the world. Industrial filter housings often have a service life of 15, 20 or even 30 years, making replacement availability an important consideration for maintenance engineers and purchasing teams.
Today, many companies are looking for a compatible replacement that allows them to keep existing installations operating without the need for expensive modifications or complete system replacements.
Filtra International supplies a modern alternative designed around the same proven filtration concept, providing a reliable solution for companies that continue to depend on the X100 platform.
Why replace only the housing?
Many existing filtration systems remain perfectly functional. Replacing only the filter housing is often faster, more economical and less disruptive than replacing an entire filtration skid. A compatible housing allows maintenance teams to extend the service life of existing installations while maintaining familiar operating procedures.
From industry standard to compatible replacement
Originally developed by Filter Specialists Inc. and later supplied by Pall Corporation, the X100 became a widely recognised polypropylene filter housing for industrial liquid filtration. Although the original Pall FSI product range has been officially discontinued, many X100 filter housings remain in use worldwide.
Filter Specialists Inc. developed the X100 as a lightweight and corrosion-resistant alternative to conventional metal filter housings.
The housing could be configured for either bag filtration or cartridge filtration by changing its internal components.
After FSI became part of Pall Corporation, the X100 continued within the Pall FSI filtration portfolio.
Pall announced that production of all FSI products, including the X100 plastic filter housing, would stop on 31 December 2020.
Filtra International supplies a compatible replacement for users who want to continue using the proven X100 bag or cartridge filtration concept.
The original X100
The FSI X100® Convertible Filter Housing was developed as a practical plastic filter housing for industrial liquid filtration. Its polypropylene construction provided a lightweight and corrosion-resistant alternative to many conventional metal housings.
One of the defining characteristics of the X100 was its convertible design. Depending on its internal configuration, the housing could operate with an X100 Size 5 filter bag or with a cartridge filter.
This flexibility made the X100 suitable for applications including water treatment, chemical processing, cooling water, surface treatment, desalination and general industrial liquid filtration.
After Filter Specialists Inc. became part of Pall Corporation, the product continued to be associated with both names. This is why it is still referred to as the FSI X100, Pall X100, X100B or X100C.
The current situation
On 27 October 2020, Pall issued an official customer notification announcing the discontinuation of the Pall FSI product range.
The notice confirmed that all FSI products would stop being manufactured on 31 December 2020. The affected product list specifically included the X100 plastic filter housing.
Original Pall FSI X100 housings are therefore no longer manufactured as part of the former product range. Many X100 filter housings nevertheless remain in use because of their practical construction and long service life.
Maintenance engineers and purchasing teams therefore continue searching for a reliable FSI X100 replacement or Pall X100 alternative without having to change the established filtration concept.

Housing Replacement
Yes. Pall officially discontinued the original X100 plastic filter housing range. Manufacturing ceased on December 31, 2020. Filtra International supplies compatible standalone replacement filter housings for existing X100 installations.
Yes. Filtra International supplies compatible replacement housings for both principal X100 configurations:
The correct version depends on the filter element and configuration used in the existing installation.
The X100B is configured as a bag filter housing and uses a replaceable liquid filter bag. The X100C is configured as a cartridge filter housing and uses cartridge filter elements. Although the housings are related, their internal element arrangements are different.
The replacement housing is designed for applications where an existing FSI or Pall X100 filter housing must be replaced. Connection size, thread standard, dimensions, available space and pipe alignment should still be confirmed before ordering.
Providing photographs and measurements of the existing installation allows our team to check the required configuration before quotation.
No. The X100 is a standalone plastic filter housing. It holds a filter bag or cartridge element through which the process liquid flows. Pumps, pipework, valves, instrumentation and other process equipment are not part of the filter housing itself.
Filter Bags & Cartridges
Yes. Filtra International supplies compatible replacement filter bags for X100B bag filter housings. Bags are available in a broad range of commonly used micron ratings, media and constructions for industrial liquid filtration.
Available media can include:
Yes. Compatible filter bags can be supplied in multiple micron ratings. The correct rating depends on the particle size that must be retained, the required product quality, flow rate and acceptable differential pressure.
A lower micron rating provides finer particle retention but can also create a higher pressure drop or shorter service life when the liquid contains a high solids load.
We supply a wide selection of compatible filter bags in the commonly required media, micron ratings and constructions. Selection can include different filter materials, seams, rings and performance levels.
Because not every material is suitable for every chemical, temperature or operating condition, the final bag should be selected according to the specific application.
Yes. We can supply compatible cartridge elements for X100C cartridge filter housings. Available technologies can include spun-bonded depth cartridges, pleated cartridges, string-wound cartridges and application-specific media.

Technical Selection
The X100 housing platform is generally associated with a maximum operating pressure of up to 100 psi, approximately 6.9 bar. This value should not be treated as an unconditional operating limit.
The permissible pressure can be affected by temperature, process liquid, housing configuration, connection type, sealing material and operating conditions. The final duty point must therefore be confirmed before installation.
A general reference value for the polypropylene X100 housing is up to 110°F, approximately 43°C. The actual permissible temperature depends on the process liquid, pressure, seal material and complete housing configuration.
Pressure and temperature limits must always be evaluated together rather than as separate specifications.
The housing is manufactured from polypropylene. This provides a lightweight and corrosion-resistant alternative for many industrial liquid applications where a compatible plastic housing is appropriate.
Polypropylene is not compatible with every liquid or process condition. Chemical compatibility should therefore be checked before selecting the housing.
It can be suitable for various chemical applications, provided that the process liquid is compatible with the polypropylene housing, seals, filter element and all wetted components.
Chemical name, concentration, temperature and pressure should be provided so that the proposed materials can be reviewed.
The seal material must be selected according to the process liquid, chemical concentration, temperature and required operating life. No single elastomer is suitable for every application.
Include the complete process conditions in your quotation request so that an appropriate seal option can be considered.
Identification & Ordering
The clearest distinction is the type of filter element inside the housing. An X100B uses a filter bag, while an X100C uses cartridge elements.
The original identification label, internal support components and photographs of the opened housing can also help determine the correct version.
Include as much of the following information as possible:
Photographs can often provide enough information for an initial identification. Useful images include the complete housing, product label, top closure, inlet and outlet connections and the internal bag or cartridge arrangement.
Measurements or additional process information may still be required before a final configuration is confirmed.
