Oil Skimmer Quote & Application Request

Industrial Oil Removal & Oil-Water Separation

Request an Oil Skimmer Recommendation & Quote

Tell us where oil is entering or collecting in your process. Filtra International can help determine the appropriate Oil Skimmers equipment, system configuration or oil-water separation solution.

You do not need to know which model you require. Start with the problem. Tell us about the oil, process liquid, tank or pit and what you want to improve. We can use that information as the starting point for a technical review.

Oil Removal Technologies

Solutions we can evaluate for your application

You do not need to select the technology before submitting your request. The correct approach depends on the oil, tank geometry, flow conditions, recovery requirement and installation environment.

Continuous surface oil removal

Tube Oil Skimmers

Free-floating collector-tube systems for continuous removal of floating oils, fats and grease from tanks, pits and process liquids.

Higher-volume surface recovery

Floating Weir Skimmers

Floating systems for applications requiring controlled removal of the upper oil layer or higher recovery rates.

Restricted access

Belt Oil Skimmers

Belt-based systems for deep tanks, restricted openings and applications where belt geometry is advantageous.

Integrated oil recovery

Complete Skimming Systems

Systems incorporating skimming, mounting, oil collection, decanting, transfer and other application-specific components.

Oil-water separation

Oil-Water Separators

Complete separation systems for continuous or batch oily-water streams where skimming forms part of the treatment process.

Application specific

Custom Engineered Systems

Custom solutions for unusual tank geometry, viscosity, temperature, flow or oil-recovery requirements.

Application Validation

Test the application before committing to a permanent system

Where appropriate, testing can reduce uncertainty and help confirm the correct oil-removal approach before final equipment selection.

Oil Skimmers Tube Test Kit for testing collector tube performance with actual oil and process liquid
Tube Skimmer Testing

Request an Oil Skimmers Tube Test Kit

For suitable tube-skimmer applications, collector material can be tested directly with your actual process liquid and oil.

This provides a practical way to evaluate how well the collector tube attracts and carries the oil before selecting the final skimmer.

It can be particularly useful for unusual oils, coolants, wastewater, vegetable oils or other process fluids where skimming performance has not yet been demonstrated.

Proof of Concept

Demonstration & rental options

For selected equipment and applications, Filtra International can evaluate a temporary proof-of-concept or rental arrangement.

The objective is to verify the oil-removal principle under actual operating conditions before committing to the final system.

This can be especially useful when the application is unusual, when internal project approval requires practical evidence or when the operating conditions make theoretical sizing alone insufficient.

Project Process

What happens after your request?

We review the information you provide, identify the most appropriate oil-removal approach and determine what is required to move the application towards testing, engineering or quotation.

STEP 01

Application review

We review the oil, process liquid, tank or pit dimensions and the relevant operating conditions.

STEP 02

Technology selection

We determine whether a tube, belt, floating weir, complete skimming system or oil-water separator is most appropriate.

STEP 03

Technical clarification

If necessary, we clarify dimensions, flow conditions, oil characteristics, mounting or installation requirements.

STEP 04

Recommendation & proposal

We provide the technical recommendation and determine whether the application should proceed to quotation, testing, proof of concept or additional engineering.

Useful Information

Information that helps us evaluate your application

You do not need to have every technical value available. Provide what you know and we can clarify the remaining details during the application review.

Oil type
Hydraulic oil, lubricant, diesel, fuel, tramp oil, vegetable oil, animal fat, grease or another floating contaminant.
Temperature
Helps us understand viscosity and whether oils or fats may thicken or solidify as the process cools.
Tank / pit dimensions
Length, width and liquid depth help determine collector length, mounting requirements and installation geometry.
Mounting height
The vertical distance between the normal liquid surface and the proposed mounting position is particularly important when selecting a tube skimmer.
Oil quantity
An estimate of the amount of oil accumulating per hour, day or batch helps determine the required recovery capacity.
Flow rate
Particularly important when evaluating an oil-water separator or an application with a continuous wastewater or process-water flow.
Photos & drawings
Photos, sketches and equipment layouts can quickly clarify mounting positions, access restrictions and installation conditions.
Oil Skimmers Tube Test Kit for testing collector tube performance with actual oil and process liquid
Test Before You Select

Not sure how your oil will respond to a tube skimmer?

An Oil Skimmers Tube Test Kit allows you to test the collector material directly with your actual oil and process liquid before final equipment selection.

This is particularly useful for unusual oils, coolants, food oils, process fluids or applications where skimming performance has not yet been demonstrated.

  • Test with your actual process liquid
  • Evaluate oil attraction and collection
  • Useful before selecting a tube-skimmer model
  • Simple way to reduce application uncertainty
Frequently Asked Questions

Oil skimmer application questions

You do not need to be an oil-skimming specialist before contacting us. These are some of the questions that commonly arise when evaluating an industrial oil-removal application.

Do I need to know which Oil Skimmers model I need?
No. Tell us about the process, where the oil collects and what you are trying to achieve. We can use that information to determine which Oil Skimmers technology and model should be evaluated.
What if I do not know all the technical information?
That is not a problem. Provide the information currently available and leave optional fields blank where necessary. Missing dimensions, flow rates or operating data can be clarified during the technical review.
Why is the mounting height important?
For tube-type oil skimmers, the distance between the liquid surface and the available mounting position helps determine the appropriate collector-tube length and installation arrangement.
Can vegetable oils and fats be skimmed?
Free-floating vegetable oils, animal fats and similar products can be suitable for skimming. Temperature is especially important because some oils and fats become much more viscous or may solidify when they cool.
Can an oil skimmer remove emulsified oil?
Oil skimmers are primarily intended to remove free-floating oil from the liquid surface. Stable emulsions may require another separation or treatment process. If you are unsure whether the oil is free-floating or emulsified, include that in your request so the application can be reviewed correctly.
Can I test my oil before buying a skimmer?
Yes. For suitable tube-skimmer applications, an Oil Skimmers Tube Test Kit can be used to evaluate collector-tube performance directly with your actual oil and process liquid.
Can I rent equipment for a proof of concept?
Proof-of-concept and rental arrangements can be evaluated for selected equipment and applications. We first review the operating conditions so that any proposed trial uses equipment suitable for the actual application.
Can Filtra provide more than just the oil skimmer?
Yes. Depending on the project, a complete solution can include the skimmer, mounting system, oil collection, decanting, transfer, controls, oil-water separation and application-specific engineering.
